Elementor360 Newsletter Issue 19
In this issue a review of recent Elementor360 content and news about themes, plugins, and templates.
From Elementor360
Gutenberg vs Elementor: With the increased acceptance of Gutenberg and block addons starting to get more page builder functionality, a number of people have asked if they still need Elementor. I did a comparison called How Does Gutenberg Stack Up With Elementor (Free and Pro) that shows what Elementor brings to the table?
Master Addons: I did a review of the Master Addons for Elementor offering. The developers have been adding a lot of features lately. There are some unique features and some Elementor Pro features, but also some limitations and I don’t think this is for everyone.
Kadence Theme: I did a pretty in-depth look at the Kadence Theme and how it works with Elementor. Again Kadence is on the leading edge. I make the case that is some cases it is the best Elementor theme.
Best Value Elementor Deals: Yes, it is Black Friday and there are a lot of sales. From the large list of sales I selected some Black Friday Deals that I think provide extra good value.
Themes – Kadence and Elementor
The Kadence theme achieved a first. It is (so far) the only theme to integrate with Elementor’s global color palette. There is new a two way sync between the Kadence theme Customizer and Elementor that keeps color choices in sync. The colors are not only global, but also linked, so that change in the palette is reflected wherever that global color was used, including in Elementor content. Kadence Starter Sites also supports this and is adding Elementor starter content.
Plugins
Essential Addons Pro gets RTL and ACF Support
The pro version of Essential Addons got support for right to left language translations and Dynamic Tag / Advanced Custom Field support was added for most widgets. I love to see support for dynamic data as it allows for the use of the widgets in theme templates.
Happy Addons Free and Pro Get Big Updates
HappyAddons released a version of their free plugin with several new features. The plugin now offers full page predesigned templates, initially 20, and a number of new line icons. They also added a social share widget and a horizontal timeline widget.
There was also a huge update for HappyAddons Pro. There were a slew of new widgets for WooCommerce: a Product Grid widget, Product Carrousel widget, Product Category Grid widget, and Product Category widget. There were also new Post Grid, Sticky Video, and Author List widgets added. There was a new extension added for cross site copy and paste of a full page.
The Plus Addons Pro Adds Dependency on Free Version
The Plus Addons free and pro versions used to be independent of each other. They have changed this so that the free version must be present when activating the pro version. From a user perspective I like only having one, instead of two, plugins installed. However, from a programmer point of view it makes sense not to duplicate and support all of the code in two plugins.
Premium Addons Major Update
The Premium Addons for Elementor plugin has just had a major update, now at version 4. They have added a Features tab to the plugin admin dashboard where you can enable or disable any of the widgets and features. I am happy to see this added as I think it is a sign of a good addon. They also added a Lottie enabled advanced list widget, which is an artistic list option with icons and the option for a Lottie animation.
Templates – Elementor Adds the Dance Studio Template Kit
The 15th template kit dropped with a dance studio focus. The templates are designed to be simple, but elegant and eye-catching. The minimalistic palette of greyish beige, white and black helps make the photos standout and makes this kit easily adaptable. There is a home page, a scheduling page and a popup included.
Well, that’s it for this issue. Happy Elementoring.
