Elementor360 Newsletter – Issue 10

Welcome to the 10th issue of the Elementor360 newsletter.  It looks like development slowed down during the sales season as there are only a few plugin updates.  However, the Elementor team did not miss a step and had a few releases.  Also, there is a lot of speculation about what will make it into Elementor version 3.

Ultimate Addons Has Security Issue

In case you didn’t hear, Ultimate Addons for Elementor had a serious security issue. The security issue allows someone to login without a password.  It was fixed in version 1.20.1.  Users should update immediately.

Dynamic Content for Elementor Tutorial

I took a look at the Dynamic Content for Elementor (DCE) Dynamic Token extension.  This is one part of a pretty extensive addon pack, but is a central feature that adds dynamic data functionality usable in its own widgets, Elementor free widgets, and even third party widgets.  It is a powerful tool, but with some rough edges.

PowerPack Elements Adds Background Effects

PowerPack Elements adds some cool background effects that include flying birds, fog, waves, line particles, dots, stars, net, bubble, and appropriate to the season, snow animations.  Animation is one of those things where a little goes a long way. I guess it is nice to have, but don’t over do it! I am heartened that the PowerPack team continues to expand their addon pack.

Templates

Elementor Adds Travel Template Kit

The Elementor team added its 5th template kit.  This kit is travel themed. These template kits are full site designs. This one comes with 15 pre-designed pages and elements, such as header and footer.  Response to this kit has been good as the team added lots of special touches.

Elementor Version 2.8

Elementor 2.8 adds a dark mode for the editor, a brand new color picker, and improved responsive editing functionality.  The new color palette allows you to add, remove, and rearrange colors making the color palette very flexible.  The responsive editing improves the experience when hiding elements by muting them instead of hiding them.  Sometimes hidden elements were hard to manage. 

There were also some changes in preparation for future features.  The responsive switcher has changed from a horizontal to a vertical menu in preparation for the support of custom breakpoints.  Also, there were changes to the template library to allow remote access, login capabilities, and account based settings.  The Elementor team is teasing big new features for 2020.

There is speculation that Elementor version 3 will include more global styling options, support for custom break points, and a per-user cloud-based template library.
